He was predeceased by: his parents, James Milton and Betty Liza Rorex; his siblings, Herman Rorex and Virginia Ruth Byrd (Jean); and his sister-in-law Edith Rorex.
He is survived by: his wife Dorthy; his children, Anita Rorex Blevins (Dennis), Ricky Rorex (Romy) and Eddie Rorex (Shelia); his grandchildren, Amy Blevins, Dennis Blevins Jr. (Kelly) and Nicholas Rorex; his great grandchildren, Conor, Kyler, Caleb Blevins and Andi Grace Smith; his brothers, Tommy Rorex (Pat) and Jim Rorex; his stepsons, Dalton and Jason Steele; his stepgranddaughters, Joni Stevens and Haley Steele; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Tia Peacock, Shawntez, Devan and Aleah Ballard; and his great great grandchild Greyson "Cowboy" Peacock. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; along with a host of friends.
