He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Jean Rudder; his parents, A. G. "Dinky" Rudder and Maryanna Rudder; and his sister Anna Amanda Rudder. He is survived by: his children, John Cook Rudder (Lisa) and Mary Rowe (Wally); his grandsons, Josh Rudder (Millie), Lucas Rudder (Cinthya), Zack Rowe (Rikki) and Seth Rowe; and his great grandchildren, Tony, Jack, Linda, Mary Chase, Madi Grace, George and Hudson.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, at 112 College Street, Stevenson, AL 35772, in honor of Johnny.
