He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy McCrary Powell; his son David Powell; his parents, George Powell and Pearl Powell; his great grandchildren, Lyrick, Lexie Olson and Baby Shoemake; and his siblings, Nancy Lou Hampton, Hazel Ilene Kirby, Doris Shelton, Nina Faye Glass and Virgil Powell.
He is survived by: his children, Harold Powell, Carol Shoemake (Tommy) and Cheryl Powell; his grandchildren, Adam Shoemake (Julie) and Jenna Moore (Randall); his great grandchildren, Harmony Moore, Harley Arnold, Christopher Shoemake and Savannah Shoemake; his brothers, Floyd Powell (Wanda) and Wayne Powell (Dorothy); and his sister-in-law Brenda Powell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rudder Funeral Home - Stevenson (45015 AL-277, Stevenson, AL 35772). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:40 PM at the same location.
