He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Sr. Cooper and Stella Cooper; his children, J. D. Cooper III, Eric Cooper and Teresa Cooper; his sister Janice Noblitt; and his grandchildren, William Allison and Chelsea Allison.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Cooper; his children, Eugene Bice, Bruce Bice, Ryan Cooper and Penny Lawhorne; his siblings, Jackie Cooper, Barbara Wilson and Anita Bice; and his children-in-law, Carmen, Pam, Erica and Tommy. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
