He was predeceased by: his parents, William Esslinger and Julia Esslinger; his wife Martha Esslinger; his son Danny Esslinger; and his great grandchild Serenity Mason.

He is survived by: his children, Ricky Esslinger (Sherry), Perry Esslinger (Rebecca), James Esslinger, Angie Parker (Bobby) and Geneva Dunn (Bobby); and his siblings, Robert Esslinger (Lois) and Lorene Barker (Gene). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
