He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Jody" Ward and Maude Christian Ward; and his siblings, Bobby, Russel, Cecil, Albert, Roy Ward, Mary Nell Ward Parton and Joyce Ann Ward Williams.
He is survived by: his daughter Emily Ward Lyles; and his siblings, Kenneth, James, Melvin Ward, Frances Ward Williams and Freida Ward Campbell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
