He was predeceased by: his wife Jeannette Bellamy Nichols; his parents, Carl Nichols and Letha Nichols; his siblings, Earl, Wayne Nichols, Sue Nichols Thompson and Ann Nichols; his uncle James Adison; and his aunt Mattie Jackson.

He is survived by: his sons, Troy, Stacey and Jamie Nichols (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Amanda, Justin, Colton Nichols and Austin Whittemore.
