Winfred Byrd Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Winfred Byrd of Stapleton, Alabama, who passed away on March 30, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Laymon and Evie McQueen Byrd; his former wife Loyce Thomas Byrd; his son Leslie Winfred Byrd; his daughter-in-law Kay Byrd; and his siblings, Huey Byrd, Janett Bass, Bell Booker and Carolyn Schimpf.

He is survived by: his wife Rev. Darlene Byrd of Stapleton; his son Sammy Byrd (Susie); his siblings, Tom Byrd (Maxine) of Stapleton, Vonnie Byrd of Bay Minette, Carl Byrd (Sylvia) of Robertsdale, Vermon Byrd of Stapleton, Gwyn Byrd (Carol) of Stapleton, Scottie Byrd (Linda) of Stapleton, Luvenia Gordon of Stapleton, Eulene Davis, Lator Bowen (Ed) of Summerdale, Eleanor Wooldridge of Bay Minette and Sheila Rolin of Stapleton; his siblings-in-law, Terry Owens of Loxley, Tony Smith of Loxley, Laura Kemp of Woodlawn Virginia and Voncile Adkins of Crestview; his grandchildren, Starla Allen (James) of Crossroads, Jennifer Hendrickson (Joe) of Loxley and Jacob Byrd; his great grandchildren, James Stanford (Lacy), Elliott Allen and Easton Allen; and his great great grandchild Adalyn Stanford.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Robertsdale First Assembly of God (18460 Wisconsin St, Robertsdale, AL 36567). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
