He was predeceased by: his former wife Glennis Jerkins Phillips; his son Franklin Kevin Phillips; his brother George Leon Phillips; and his parents, Johnnie Franklin and Mary Ellen Cobb Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Taylor Phillips of Creola, AL; his children, Sheila D. Veverka (John) of Stapleton, AL, Randall E. Phillips (Kellie) of Stapleton, AL, Ronald "Chris" Phillips of Crossroads and Jeremy Wayne Phillips (Lisa) of Stapleton, AL; his siblings, William Phillips (Lucille) of Stapleton, AL, Rosie Marie Buck of Summerdale, AL and Vera Mae Wolff (Kyle) of Spanish Fort, AL; and his grandchildren, John Jr., Jonathan, Travis (Scarlett), Tanya (Blake), Kendra, Randall Jr. "Randy" (Joy), Austin (Bailey), Justin, Courtney, Tyler and Carley. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
