He was predeceased by: his great-grandparents, James Hardin, Lavelle Hardin, Labon Donahue and Polly Donahue. He is survived by: his grandparents, Phillip and Donna Hardin; his parents, Scott Hardin (Amber) and Dee Ann Barton; his aunt Kristi Daniel (Scott); his cousin Justin Rose (Sarah); his sons, Bentley and Bowen; his grandparents, Don Barton (Patsy) and Sharon Mashburn Barton; his aunt Rebecca Barton; his great-uncles, Tommy Mashburn (Cindy) and Gary Hardin (Renea); his great-aunt Joyce Mathis; and his aunts, Linda Kenney (Danny), Kay Livingston (Dixon), Patti Bendall (Steve), Pam Rea (Bucky) and Candice Bretherick. He is also survived by cousins and friends.

Because of Sylas's love for school and learning, the family asks that you consider in lieu of flowers to make a memorial to the Sylas Hardin Memorial Scholarship Fund.
