He was predeceased by: his father Delmer Smith; and his brother-in-law J. C. Chowning. He is survived by: his wife Rhonda; his stepsons, Benjamin and Austin Odom; his mother Mary Lucille Smith; his siblings, Debra Chowning, Tim Smith (Kim) and Terry Smith; and his stepgrandchildren, Trinity, Leelynn and Arayah Odom. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
