He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nesmith and Lorene Nesmith; and his grandparents, Dewey, Alice McClain, Jay and Lula Nesmith.

He is survived by: his son Joel Nesmith; his wife Pam; his grandchildren, Brodie, Alyssa and Bailey; his brothers, Loyd Nesmith and Tim Nesmith; his nephews, Jay and Patrick Nesmith; and his niece Britney Nesmith Cryer.
