He was predeceased by: his parents, Onie Walter Barrett, Sr. and Eoline Pate Barrett; and his granddaughter Teresa Barrett Boswick. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Senn Barrett; his sons, Onie Barrett, III (Peggy), Dan Barrett (Darlene), Darren Barrett (Sharee) and Chip Harman (April); his grandchildren, Collin Barrett, Christina Barrett, Taylor Barrett, Hannelore Harman and Kayla Harman; his great grandchild Rob McInvale; his sister Janice Barrett Barron; his pet Benji Lee; and his close friends, Gary Keith, Ross Harrison, Liz Haven and Onie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Onie's name to Luke 4:18 Fellowship.
