He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Johnston. He is survived by: his daughter Renee Andrews (Don) of Georgetown, TX; his brother Joe Johnston of Gladewater, TX; and his cousin Clayton Carl Johnston of Crawford, TX. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Daphne Chapel (27409 US-98, Daphne, AL 36526). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Lon was active in retirement serving the City of Daphne, Alabama, in volunteer capacities and on key boards including Friends of the Daphne Library, Olde Towne Daphne Association, Daphne Library Foundation, Daphne Utilities, and others.
