He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marie; his children, Gene Zumwalt, Jr (Erin), Evan, Jake, Adam and Tina Verdin (Eric); his grandson Brett; and his children, Penny Sayago, Sady and Sharon Laurence (Jacob). He was also cherished by married in 1968 and started a family, which eventually included a son and three daughters.
