He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gurley Burden and Velma Hyatt Burden; and his siblings, Ray Burden and Mildred Bobo. He is survived by: his wife Leona; his daughter Judy Childers; his son-in-law Mickey Childers; his grandchildren, Jim Childers (Belinda), Julie Thomas (Wesley) and John Childers (Leigh Anna); his great grandchildren, Brook Childers, Michael Childers, Kayleigh Thrasher, Weslynn Thomas and Anna Leigh Childers; his sister Nell Skidmore; his friend Jimmy Lenox; his great grandchild Murphy Childers; his grandson-in-law Wesley Thomas; his nephews, Johnny Burden and David Skidmore; and also Allen Hyatt.
