He was predeceased by: his daughter Patricia Clemons; his grandsons, William Vernon Gill and Douglas Bernard Turner; his parents, Willie Jesse and Edith Mae Gill (Brown); and his sister Gladys Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Alma Gill of Susan Moore; and his children, Larry (Martha Gill), David (Delane Gill), Jimmy (Anissa Gill), Linda Turner (Thomas) of Florida, Betty Ann Harrison of Blountsville, Carolyn, Charlie Flowers of Piedmont and Cathy Gill of Blountsville. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and a host of extended family and friends.
