He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Spurlock and Rosa Lee Spurlock; his son Bubba Myers; and his siblings, Calvin Spurlock, Bobby Spurlock, Margaret Sawyer, Bernice Melton and Josephine Woods.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Pierce Spurlock of Smiths Station, AL; his children, Steven Scott "Scotty" Spurlock (Leslie), Christopher Spurlock (Annazzette), Ricky Myers (Tammy) and Tina Bruner (Kevin); and his siblings, Howard Earl Spurlock (Sue) and Margie Procise (Tim). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
