He is survived by: his son Herbert O Newsome; his wife Jackie Newsome; his children, Deborah Celeste Montoya, Jodi Newsome Nelson, Melani Newsome Bell (Troy), Michael Scott and Jeffery Scott (Jesse); and his sisters, Judith Ann Rodzwitz (Bill), Virginia Grant and Donna Kenny. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
