With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lilias M. Root Rud of Smiths Station, Alabama, born in Cooperstown, North Dakota, who passed away on December 17, 2022 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dallas A. Root and Mona Irene Winter Root; her husband Dr. Willard A. Rud; and her siblings, Phyllis Valentine, Roland Root and Donald Root.

She is survived by: her sons, Timothy Alan Rud (Tracy) of Holly Springs, GA and Steven Jay Rud (Kelly) of Smiths Station, AL; and her grandchildren, Katelyn Elizabeth Peters Rud, William Dallas Rud and Matthew Edwin Rud. She is also survived by other loving family members, friends.
