He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lawrence Mitchell of Phenix City, AL; his sons, Johnny "John" Mitchell, Jr. (Rachel), Mark Mitchell (Debra) and Brian Mitchell; his siblings, Sara Coleman, Leon Mitchell (Frances) and David Mitchell (Linda); his grandchild Taylor Mitchell (Katherine); and his great grandchildren, Lawton Cade Mitchell and Mallie Edwards. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
