We are sad to announce that on May 7, 2023, at the age of 84, Ira Simmons of Smiths Station, Alabama, born in Brantley, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joecefus Simmons and Leaner Cathron Napper Simmons; his wife Edna Marie Johnson Simmons; his son Terry Simmons; and his siblings, Pauline Meeks and Joe Simmons.
He is survived by: his daughter Rita Roberts of Smiths Station, AL; his sister Mary Jones of Troy, AL; his grandchildren, Robby Merciers (Whitney), Amanda Diffey (Jason), Kevin Simmons, Josh Simmons, Brittany Lurker (Drew) and Matt Simmons; and his great grandchildren, Layla, Candice, Kyle, Brayden, Colton, Alexis, Kayne and Addie. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and numerous caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, you may make contributions to Gentiva Hospice of Phenix City in memory of Ira "Aaron" Simmons.
