It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Minger of Smiths Station, Alabama, who passed away on November 4, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Lou Jones and Charlie Sheppard; her husband Grant Minger, Sr.; her siblings, Aultra Mae Westley, Georgia Mae Williams, Douglas Jones, John Allen Jones, Itson Jones and Richard Toney Jones; and her sons, Walter Harrison Minger, Sr., Eddie Lee Minger, Grant Minger, Jr. and Oscar Lee Minger.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ida B. Phillips of Seale, AL and Jimmy L. Jones of Seale, AL; her children, Mary Ann Salas of Phenix City, AL, Virginia Minger of Smiths Station, AL, Edna Minger of Phenix City, AL and Royzell Minger (Sylvia) of Montgomery, AL; and her great-nephew James "Shannon" Minger. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
