He is survived by: his wife Angelita Preciado Richards; his children, Ramona Claridy (Glenn) of Salem, AL, Artemisa Harmon (Jason) of Salem, AL and Joaquin Richards (Carol) of Salem, AL; his grandchildren, Gabriella Montgomery (Arlen), Savannah Garner (Christopher), Catherine Richards, Elijah Richards, Lola Harmon and Ruben Harmon; his great grandchild Emilia Reyes Garner; and his sisters, Margaret Stewart and Malissia Norris.
