He was predeceased by: his parents, Earlie B. Hughes and Lela Mae Singletary Hughes; his brothers, Clifton Lavon Hughes and John Earl Hughes; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Watkins and Gerald Golden.
He is survived by: his former wife Gloria Nowling; his daughter Dana Hughes Sasser (Greg); his stepdaughter Tanya White (Keith); his son Danny Hughes (Buffy); his grandchildren, Danny Sasser (Brittany), Lee Sasser (Leighanna), Joey Sasser (Megan) and Haylee Hughes (Michael); his great grandchildren, Weston, Wyatt, Wade, Wise, Adilyn, Avery, Cruz and Lily; his sisters, Delta Sue Watkins and Wanda Mae Golden; and his sister-in-law Charlotte Hughes. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends.
