It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eddie Carl Holmes of Slocomb, Alabama, born in Houston, Alabama, who passed away on May 2, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Marvin Holmes; and his siblings, Marvette Holmes, Geraldine Sallas, Patsy Hooper and Carlene Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Era Jo Holmes; his children, Julie Davis (Phil), Tommy Holmes (Kathy) of Byron, GA and John Holmes (Rachael) of Chesapeake, VA; his grandchildren, Hilary Taylor (James), Hal Davis (Rebekah), Nicholas Holmes (Missy), Courtney Holmes, Kaylee Moreno (Mario) and Grace Holmes; his sister Betty Gunter; and his brother-in-law J. L. Hughes. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
