He was predeceased by: his grandson Dexter Barry Edward Lucas; his son-in-law Jasper Ezell; his parents, Roy Smith and Lela Mae Lee Smith; and his brother Leroy Franklin Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" Smith of Silas, AL; his daughters, Donna Smith Lucas (Madrid) of Toxey, AL, Marsha Smith Carney of Silas, AL and Robin Smith Ezell Almond (Michale) of Silas, AL; his sisters, Maedell Lumpkin of Waynesboro, MS, Gaynell Creel of Waynesboro, MS, Berneice Crager of Lucedale, MS and Evelyn Rigney of Waynesboro, MS; his grandchildren, Heather Lucas, Brittany Carney Gardner (Jacob), Patton Carney, Kellie Carney, Martina Ezell, Cara Ezell and Kevin Ezell; and his great grandchildren, Adalline Lucas, Kaegan Lee and Isabella Taylor.
