He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, G. L. "Shack" Barnes and Grace Moody Barnes; his wife Nell Turner Barnes; his children, Vicki Hatfield (Scott), Danny Barnes and Kenny Fleming (Mary Ellen) of Charlotte, NC; his brothers, Tom Barnes (Nancy) and Yancey Barnes (Peggy); and his grandchildren, Dustin Barnes (Carley), Dylan Barnes, David Barnes, Kealan Hatfield, Christian Hatfield, Joey Fleming, Max Fleming and Hallie Fleming.
