He is survived by: his parents, Judy Holmes and Samuel Graves Lowrey; his wife Kathryn; his daughter Sara Douglas; his sisters, Lynn Lowrey Patterson (Tom) and Katy Lowrey Sloan (John); and his nieces and nephews, Lowrey Patterson, Shelby Patterson, John Sloan, Sam Sloan and Stewart Sloan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The ALS Association - Alabama Chapter.
