She was predeceased by: her fathers, Harvey Johnson and Leo Melton Smitherman; her husband James M. Alverson; her children, Debbie Cost and David Alverson; her brother Roy Dell Johnson; and her granddaughter Janet Garren.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Alverson of Calera and Linda Davis (Danny) of Calera; her son-in-law Kenny Dale Cost of Calera; and her siblings, Betty Sue Wells (Ted) of Jemison, Lula Glass of Calera, Elizabeth Mims of Clanton and Frank Johnson of Montevallo. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
