She was predeceased by: her parents, John McDonald and Rosie Glasscock McDonald; her husband Leo Higgins; and her grandson Shannon Higgins. She is survived by: her children, Richard H. Higgins (Alma), Charles G. Higgins (Lisa), Larry M. Higgins (Cindy) and Florence L. Vanderslice (Don). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
