She was predeceased by: her grandparents, John and Rosie McDonald; her parents, Leo Higgins and Frances Higgins (McDonald); and her nephew Shannon Higgins.

She is survived by: her husband Donald Vanderslice; her son Terry Vanderslice; and her brothers, Richard Higgins (Alma), Charles Higgins (Lisa) and Larry Higgins (Cindy).
