He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis George Ziegler and Anna Gertrude Ziegler; and his brothers, Melvin Ziegler and Russell Ziegler (Sandra). He is survived by: his wife Sarah L. Ziegler; his daughters, Jennifer Hyde (Ray) and Mandi Benson (Kirt); his grandchildren, Hannah Ziegler, Lauren Ziegler, Wesley Hyde and Melissa Hyde Cook (Tim); his great grandchildren, Hadley, Hayden and Pierceton; and his brother Les Ziegler (Leona) of Chillicothe, IL. He is also survived by his family and friends.
Among his most cherished service-related achievements was the honor of being selected in 1969 to donate blood in support of the APOLLO 12 mission during the first scientific exploration of the lunar surface.
