She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Dawson and Bessie Merle Dawson; her husband Johnnie Eugene Sockwell; her siblings, Rayford, Jerry, Marie Keenum, Shirley Meadows, Lynn Johnson and Ann Bolton; and her great grandchild Christian Beau Campbell.
She is survived by: her sisters, Carolyn Davis, Linda Smith, Kaye Oliver and Terri Hardy; and her daughters, Deborah Flowers (Larry), Kathy Sockwell Fuller, Gwendolyn Kimbrough (Steven) and Angela Akins (Billy). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
