She was predeceased by: her husband Bernard L. Heffernan; her son Kevin R. Heffernan; her parents, John D. Sharp and Russell Sharp; and her siblings, Wiley, John D. Sharp and Alma Jean Curry.

She is survived by: her children, Bernard L. Heffernan, Jr. (Jennifer) of Virginia Beach, VA, John M. Heffernan of Charlotte, NC, James A. Heffernan (Belinda) of Sheffield, AL and Elizabeth Gargis (Jeff) of Tuscumbia, AL; and her grandchildren, Christopher Heffernan, Jon Gargis (Laura), Heather Gargis (Robbie) and Ashlee Heffernan.
