He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Sims and Arma Jean Sims. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Roberson Sims; his sons, Marcus Carroll, Kelvin Thirkill, Frederick Tucker and LaVar Woods; his aunts, Cathy Hollingsworth and Mary Jean Johnson; and his uncle James Johnson (Deloris). He is also survived by Nineteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
