He was predeceased by: his great grandchild Kennedy; and his sister-in-law Sally Slagle. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Ellett; his sons, John "Bo" Ellett (Claudia) and Andy Ellett (Tammy); his brother Ed Ellett; his grandchildren, Brooke, Blake, Tanner, Tyler, Charlie, Gracie and Tommy; his great grandchildren, Georgia, Margot, Hunter, Olivia and Evie; and his brother-in-law Rudy Slagle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia, 203 North Dickson Street, Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
