He was predeceased by: his son Herbert D. Johnson; his grandson Jasmon C. Johnson, Jr.; his parents, Ollie Mae Johnson and Jerry B. Johnson; and his siblings, Earnest L. Johnson, Percy Johnson, Ellen L. Crenshaw and Hazel Nell Steed.
