We are sad to announce that on January 18, 2020, at the age of 96, Gwendolyn Stanley Semmes (Sheffield, Alabama) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Richard and Elizabeth Beatrice Harvill Stanley; her husband Edward "Scrappy" Semmes; her daughter Catherine Semmes Barnes; and her sister Elizabeth Stanley Burt.

She is survived by: her sons, Michael (Ouida) and Richard Semmes (Leslie). She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a niece, and a nephew.
