She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dowdy and Vannie Dowdy; her former husband Chester Elliott; her daughter Judy Bickert; and her siblings, Hazel Barker (Billy), Kathryn Wheeler, William Dowdy (Nelda), Ralph Dowdy (Rose) and Hershell Dowdy (Jannie).
She is survived by: her husband Donald Thompson of Sheffield, AL; her stepson Brian Thompson; her son-in-law Giles Bickert of Indianapolis, IN; and her brother Donald Dowdy (Joyce) of Clearwater, FL.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
