With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David A. Johnson of Sheffield, Alabama, who passed away on September 17, 2021 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hollis and Irene Johnson; his brothers, Phillip Johnson and William Hollis Johnson Jr.; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Johnson and Linda Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Faye Kirk Johnson; his siblings, Mike Johnson and Lynne Johnson Weaver (Jack); and his nieces and nephews, Ryan Weaver, Jordan Johnson (Alexandra), Scott Weaver, Dr. Lorie Johnson, Molly Weaver, Tina Harrison and Pam Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to York Bluff Baptist Church in Sheffield.

“I'm so upset to hear about this. I met David when he was at Alabama Music Hall Of Fame when I was at the age of 7, im 19 now. My Grandpa (Charles Summers) used to volunteer at the Hall Of Fame at the time, and ill tell you that he was one of the nicest people on this Earth, he would've done anything for you if you asked him too, he was always there for you. I would help him every year at the Sheffield Street Parties. Im praying for all family and friends. Ill miss you man! - Charlie Schnurer”
