He was predeceased by: his parent Arden Tolbert; his son Johnnie Lee Tolbert Jr.; and his brother Teddy Tolbert. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Tolbert; his daughter Perrisia Tolbert (James Andrews); his daughter-in-law Saleena Perry; his grandsons, Ethan Mills and Logan Deer; and his siblings, Larry Tolbert, Danny Tolbert, Tina Beams and Lois Walker. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
