It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sarah Evelyn Smitherman (Selma, Alabama), who passed away on July 11, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola Crocker and Augusta Renolds; and her siblings, William "Buddy" Crocker and Ruth Bivins. She is survived by: her husband David Smitherman; her sons, Larry Smitherman (Angela Helton) and Randy Smitherman (Amanda); her grandchildren, Dustin Smitherman (Amber), Aaron Downey, Skyler Smitherman and Ashleigh Smitherman; her great grandchild Wyatt Bunn; and her brother David Crocker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Stroke Association; P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284.
