She was predeceased by: her husband Johnnie Newsome, Sr.; and her siblings, Ruby Chandler (Tobe), Eurydice Kelly (Tom), Lillian Brannon (Troy), Gussie Caldwell (Scott), Claude Henley (Mildred) and Curt Henley.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Watts (Harrell) and Johnnie "Skeeter" Newsome, Jr. (Carrie Ann); her grandchildren, Billy Watts (Terri), Peggy Tipton (Andy), Fielding Watts, April Bergloff (Bo), Stephen Newsome (Jennifer) and Amber Tomlinson (Jason); and her sister-in-law Ruby Henley.
