He was predeceased by: his daughter Christy Thompson; his parents, James Robert Hicks and Frances Earline Hicks; his sister Martha Katherine Hicks; and his brother-in-law Bill Sexton.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Solomon Hicks; his children, Fran Wilson (Lee), Pam Nevin (Donnie) and Heath Stephens (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Kacey Weekley (Austin), Morgan Allday (Jeffery), Ethan Wilson, Tyler Nevin, Madison Olszewski (Shawn), Evynn Wilson (Austin Moore) and Seth Paxton; his great grandchildren, Marie, Sarah, McKenzie, Barrett, Jasper, Brennan and Kaison; and his sisters, Betty Elliott (Raymond), Nancy Cole (Leroy) and Lisa Sexton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc. (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701).
