He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Russell Hagood and Dr. Joseph Herrin Hagood, Sr.; his brother John Thomas Hagood; and his siblings-in-law, Molly Hicks Hagood, John Braswell Thomason and Suzanne Pettus Thomason.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Thomason Hagood; his children, Joseph Herrin Hagood, III of Selma and Elizabeth Hagood Alley (Warwick) of Jackson, MS; his grandchildren, Anne Kathryn Hagood, Caroline O'Dale Hagood, Joseph Herrin Hagood, IV, Judith Ivy Alley and Charles Warwick Alley, Jr.; his sister Margaret Russell Hagood of Mobile; and his siblings-in-law, Sam Austin Thomason (Debbie) of Huntsville and Mary Thomason of Montgomery. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Gideons International or Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.
