He was predeceased by: his parents, John Spence, Sr. and Niecie Spence; and his wife Dorothy Spence. He is survived by: his former wife Julia Jackson; his daughters, Idella Coleman (Larry) of Selma, Peggy Ann Spence of Selma and Juliet Spence Howard of Stone Mountain, Georgia; his grandchildren, Kimberly Spence of Selma, Ashley Bailey of Birmingham, Larry Coleman, Jr. of Montgomery, LaDonnis Coleman and Gabriella Howard of Stone Mountain, Georgia; his great grandchildren, Larry D'Niro Colman of Montgomery, Alabama and Corry Amari Coleman of Montgomery, Alabama; and his son-in-law Tavin Howard of Stone Mountain, Georgia. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
