It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Scales of Selma, Alabama, who passed away on August 7, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Scales to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Augustus Scales and Mary Ella Blakely Scales; his daughter Sharon Scales Register; and his sisters, Mary Furness Barnes, Nettie Grey Scales and Juanita Rose Scales.
He is survived by: his friend Selma; his wife Elna Wilson Scales; and his children, John Blakely Scales, Jr. (Angie), Colleen Scales Rutland (Frank), Patton Wilson Scales (Sara) and Samuel Kirby Scales, Sr. (Laurel). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will accept flowers or you may consider making memorial donations to Church Street United Methodist Church, Selma, Alabama.
