He was predeceased by: his father Calvin "Cotton" E. Waters; and his wife Jeanne Waters. He is survived by: his mother Patsy Stephens Waters; his children, Kellie Odom (David), Dr. Joseph H. Waters, MD and Shannon Atchison (Coby); his stepdaughters, Haley Thornton and Shaley Thornton; his grandchildren, Stephen Ratliff, Daniel Ratliff, Harper Atchison and John Brooks Atchison; his siblings, Ricky (Teresa), Terry Waters (Kellee) and Sharon Waters; and the mother of his children Karen Huffman Waters. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home of Selma With (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
