She was predeceased by: her father Hardy Cofer; her former husband Douglas Chappelle, Sr.; her son Michael Chappelle; and her sisters, Frances Perry and Emma Lightsey.
She is survived by: her husband Wendell Church; her sons, Douglas Chappelle, Jr., Derek Chappelle (Leigh) and Joshua Chappelle (Jennifer); and her siblings, Shirley Atchison, Linda Cofer and John Cofer. She is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association.
